Call The Office, London, Ontario

Call the Office is the perfect venue to see someone like Juliette Lewis perform. The space was packed for her August 8^thshow, and in the heat and the sweat it was easy to get up close and personal. When she hit the stage, she slammed the crowd with her vigour and powerhouse vocals, proving to any doubters that she has what it takes. A burst of sweat popped off her skin like she had just been shot. Body fluid has never been more sexy. She leaned out over us, climbing on shoulders and pushing her microphone into our faces. London audiences are notoriously sedate, but there was no one in the building who was uninspired by the electric rock show on stage.

 Punk to me has never been about a musical genre. True punk, according to my dictionary definition, is all about ATTITUDE. But not just any ‘f- the world disposition’ will suffice. No, it is a specific form of rebellion, grounded in the “Do it Yourself” mentality, that qualifies for the designation of said term. While NOT a punk band according to the original more familiar usage of the word, in my books, Presumed Dead, London's newest on-the-rise metal band represents the heart and soul of true punk rock…Johnny Rotten would be proud.
