Matt Martin has always loved performing for an audience. In elementary school he won his school district’s public speaking contest. Post-secondary, he studied Television Broadcasting. Over the past 20 years, he has acted in many plays and musicals with such local theatre companies as Theatre Nemesis, Ausable Theatre, London Community Players, Musical Theatre Productions, and Port Stanley Festival Theatre. He has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor (Western Ontario Drama League) and Best Actor (Brickenden Awards).
Martin’s performing roots, however, began at the age of 6, when he first impersonated Elvis Presley. In 1996, he won a local competition and performed with Orchestra London. This past July, the world's largest Elvis Festival, The Collingwood Elvis Festival, attracted hundreds of tribute artists competing from all over the world where Martin won first place in his division, a cash prize and the title “Grand Champion Non-professional Concert Years.”

Michael Durham – Travelling Large
The Art Exchange
247 Wortley Road
September 7-25, 2010

Michael Durham’s Call to Prayer, acrylic on board, 85 x 94 inches.
When most of us go on a trip, we take tons of pictures then store them in digital form or paste them into albums for future viewing. Michael Durham takes it a step further. He uses his annual trips to exotic places as a springboard for his art.
